Dear Parents, Students, and Community Members:
Hello, I extend a warm welcome to the community, parents and children of White Pine Charter School. My name is Charlotte Arnold and I am the new administrator for the academic year 2008-2009. I am looking forward to joining an outstanding staff and meeting each of you. My degrees include a B.A. in Education, a Master’s of Education in Administration, and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership.
I have been a professional educator for 27 years in the state of Idaho and six years in California. During my career I have been an administrator for fourteen years working both at the elementary and secondary level. I have also taught English, P.E. and science.
In 2000, I was selected as the alumni “Outstanding Educator” for Ricks College. I have had the good fortune to have worked with excellent educators throughout my career. I am excited about the opportunity to share the vast amount of knowledge my career has provided. The understanding of schools and the importance of maintaining and supporting quality teachers in the classroom are some of the qualities I value the most from my experience.
I have two children and five grandchildren, and I am extremely proud of them. My oldest son graduated from the University of Colorado in Electrical Engineering. He and his family (his wife is a junior high school counselor), live in Salt Lake where he is employed designing software for medical equipment. My daughter, a graduate of Idaho State University in Health Care Administration, is working in her field as well being a wife and mother of three children.
Just like each of you I love summer vacation, it is a time to rejuvenate, enjoy being with family and friends, complete summer projects, garden, golf, and do yard work. I enjoy traveling and especially enjoyed going to New York City, seeing the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Monticello, Mount Vernon, and Washington, D.C.
I strive to stay in touch with the learning community I serve. I am willing to listen to my staff, students and parents and work to their best interests. A school is only as good as the community that you build. Please feel free to contact me about WPCS. I know we can work together to create the finest educational environment for your child. As a charter school we are committed to the Core Knowledge Curriculum that raises the bar on education and gives students a chance to flourish as they learn about the world around them. Thank you for joining us on this great adventure!
Sincerely,
Charlotte L. Arnold
